So... I am officially a COLLEGE STUDENT. But I don't feel like explaining the transition into college here, so READ MY COLLEGE BLOG: http://shesincollege.blogspot.com/
This is my photography blog, so why not talk about that, eh? Looking at my entries, I was beyond SHOCKED to see that I did not note the very last shoot I did before leaving. The shoot was set in the University of Maryland's Central Maryland Agricultural Center... an AWEsome location for an artists' children's shoot. Mrs. Nira and I had been trying to schedule a shoot for months with her three "reasons for breathing", but had met with emergencies, conflicting schedules, etc. Until...
The day of the shoot--heck, the time of the shoot was perfect: beautiful golden lighting in the sky, not too bright, but not too dark; the temperature was absolutely perfect, and there was a thunderstorm. You read correctly. A thunderstorm complete with rain and a double rainbow at the time of the shoot...but heck, we all kicked off our shoes and roamed the acres of the farm. Mr. Mark Spicknall-the nicest farm manager you've EVER met- was so kind to let us stay so long....
We ran over the glistening green hills and into the greenhouse, beside the barns and cornfields, and through the vineyards in the rain, marveling at the agriculture. WOW. In the end I was VERY pleased with the photos. After meeting Mrs. Nira's children (and hearing her describe them for soooo long over FB) I felt that I adequately immortalized them, and we all had a blast!
As I said, this was my last shoot before I left for college, so I felt that the day in itself represented how I felt: thunderstorms with a gorgeous sunset and a double rainbow. I was happy and sad at the same time, but the rainbows were that my God, my family, and my love for my art would always be there. Wow...
