Oh, family. The ties that bind.
The sunday before Mom left, she got what would probably equal the most haunting, shaking phonecall of her life. Her father called her, telling her goodbye, and that he didnt think he would make it through the night. She broke down. She had been volunteering in our church's play "The Bride" since early that morning, and was in the back inventory room when she got the news.
When dad picked us up that evening, the first question he asked after he heard the news was "So, when are you leaving?".
Mom left for Alanta that Thursday.
Since dad couldn't take any time off, that left me with the children for 2 whole days.
I barely made it out with my life, but I recovered fully with an unalterable respect for my mother. It seems you dont realize how much moms do until you take their place.
These photos were taken at BWI, but I think they convey the mood for that week, even when mom came back: a bit stressed, sad, tense, lackluster, and clueless on the part of the younger two.
The cost of the ticket was unexpected for the already-set family budget, but you know what? God ALWAYS provides for His children, and we are witnesses to his faithfulness!
